This is an outstanding scanner for fast, high quality photo scanning. I upgraded from an Epson 1650 scanner purchased a few years ago to this particular model because of the need for fast, high volume scanning of photos. The set up is easy. It comes with Silverfast and Adobe Photoshop Elements, the latter a stripped down version of Photoshop, but a nice bonus and you can upgrade to the full version if you so desire. Loading of slides is a snap and it scans them 12 at a time. It scans 12 at moderate resolutions in less time than my 1650 could do three at lower resolution. The color correction feature is a dream feature for old slides, as is the scratch and dust remover. It is also just as fast on negatives and prints. The only drawback for me was the fact that the Silverfast software bombed out on my system when I installed it. I use Photoshop so not a big deal. If you have several thousand photos to scan and want high quality this scanner is well worth the money.
