better. It deserves Xtreme Fidelity. Install your Sound Blaster® X-Fi™ Xtreme
Audio sound card on your PC. Voila! You're ready to turn all of your downloaded
music into your own personal concert. And watch DVDs or downloaded videos with
full cinematic sound over virtually any speakers.
Experience your MP3 music beyond studio quality
Restore the details and vibrance that your music lost during MP3 compression
Enjoy all your music and movies in surround sound on virtually any speaker
system or headphones
Transform your desktop or Media Center PC into an Xtreme Fidelity sound
system
Imagine being in the studio as your favorite artist records a new album. The sound is real and live the way it was meant to be heard.
When that album gets mass-produced on CD, it is compressed to fit the format. And the sound quality of that original performance suffers.
When you further compress the songs into MP3, you'll notice an even greater loss of sound quality. Your favorite album now sounds flat and lifeless.
X-Fi technology breathes life back into the songs. It restores the details, expands the music to surround sound and creates an experience that goes beyond studio quality.
Detailed Features
Restore the details to your downloaded music and movies
Most downloadable music and movies are compressed; making downloads fast, and storage and portability convenient. The downside is that the quality and fullness of your songs and soundtracks are diminished.
Enter the Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio sound card. It restores the details and vibrance to your audio by intelligently enhancing the highs and lows. You'll hear it all-crisp cymbal crashes, wailing guitar solos, screeching tires and deep, booming explosions.
Surround sound from your stereo music and movies? Yes!
Your Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio sound card expands your stereo MP3s and digital movies into surround sound. Voices are centered in front of you. Ambient sound appears all around you... just like a live performance. Listen on a pair of desktop speakers or a full 5.1 speaker system.
Slip on your headphones and X-Fi also moves the sound away from your ears and into the space around you. You'll be surrounded by nine virtual speakers and feel like you're sitting in with your favorite band or that you've been dropped into the best seat in the movie theater.
Enjoy the ultimate PC movie experience with the latest cinematic technologies

I've always been a Creative Sound guy, and that trend definitely continues with the XFi Xtreme Audio Card. Got this card for a new gaming desktop and it does the job very well. It has a nice set of features (like some really awesome headphone surround support, and 24bit 96k, EAX 5.0, etc). Worked great, right out of the box!
Sounds great

Bought the Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio sound card for music and to complement my new Boston MM226 speaker system. It made a Great Sounding speakers system sound even better. Strong software package. Im impressed with the 24bit Crystalizer: Restore the details and vibrance your music and movies lost during compression. X-Fi technology intelligently enhances the highs and lows. Im satisfied with this purchase and would recommend for anyone looking for a solid music card.

I purchase this card couple of days ago. and it an awesome card. Even tho. its a audio card with EAX. I was still able to play game with it and have EAX on. I had the Sound Blaster Live 24bits with EAX. But EAX wouldn't work on F.E.A.R once I install this Card (X-FI) and a couple of updates and bunch of restart. Everything when will and I notice when I play F.E.A.R it enable the EAX option. Sound good, with X-FI cyrstalizal. Surround sound is amazing. The only thing I don't like is the software for this card. It don't have all the cool feature like my old card had. Like Voice changer, change from female to male voice and visa-versa. But its kewl.. I really like this card.

Very good upgrade to the original soundblaster live 5.1.
Before this I had the onboard sound on a very good ASUS mobo at 180$ and even if the sound was not bad, it was nothing compared to this sound card. Recommended but not on an old motherboard or with an old cpu like I had before my new mobo. For those who complain about the sound, I bet they havent even played with the software to improve the sound.
