Great Product From Creative

Overall, the X-Fi is a great sound card. You will appreciate the sound quality. However, if you are getting an occasional pop its probably because the Crystalizer option is turned on. This option sharpens the notes but I think it sometimes malfuntions. Once I turned it off, no more popping! The card could use more headers onboard for connection to your PC case outputs, but I'm happy anyway.

Worked no problem with Windows 7

I installed the drivers, not sure it was necessary but I like it when I have all my gamer options :-). I didn't have a PCI-E slot free so I bought this one and have had zero issues in over a month. I will buy the PCI-E version for my next PC. Using this card instead of the onboard sound chip free some processor usage.

Windows XP

Simple and easy to install. Works good and sounds great!! Make sure you uninstall drivers for your old card before installing the new one. If you do, you should have no problems.

Worked for me with Windows 7

I got this card because I upgraded an older computer to Windows 7. After the upgrade, my 5 year old card would crackle and was unusable. When I plugged in this new card, drivers automatically loaded and all was good. No complaints here.

Doesn't have ''What You Hear''

The card does not have a 'what you hear' option that allows you to record what comes out of the speakers without using any cable. I like to record radio shows or interviews and even the sound of some videos I watch on line. Most Sound Blaster cards have that option. Without it you need to connect the output of a PC to the input of a second PC. The software is nothing special, the usual reverberation effects for stadium, hall, surround, etc. The wave editor refused to save files reporting not enough hard drive space. Audacity did not pick up the card either so I couldn't set input or output to record with it. If all you want is good sound for your speakers or headphones this is an excellent card.
