Dual-Core Processor for Servers and Workstations
The AMD Opteron™ processor, enabling simultaneous 32- and 64-bit computing,
represents the landmark introduction of AMD64 with Direct Connect Architecture.
The AMD Opteron™ processor is designed to run existing 32-bit applications
with outstanding performance and offers customers a simplified migration path
to 64-bit computing. This evolutionary processor provides a dramatic leap forward
in compatibility, performance, investment protection, and reduced total cost
of ownership (TCO). The AMD Opteron™ processor is offered in three series:
the 100 series (1-way), the 200 series (Up to 2-way), and the 800 series (Up
to 8-way).
AMD is continuing to drive technology leadership by introducing another computing first: multi-core technology for the x86-based computing market. Dual-core AMD Opteron processors for servers and workstations extend AMD’s Direct Connect Architecture by connecting two CPUs on one die, improving overall system performance and efficiency.

Best deal out their for sockett 939 boards processor is very fast. it is the exact same as FX60 ,except mult is locked. i have one and am very happy with it. will last me for a couple of years gaming, graphics, business processor smokes and will fit well with vista once drivers are better

This CPU absolutely rocks. I have been a gamer for years and have never experienced a processor that gives you more bang for the buck and operates as well as this for what I consider to be reasonable priced. If you’re looking for performance at a reasonable price then this is the processor for you. I have not even clocked this processor because it is not necessary. I am completely satisfied and would recommend this to any gamer period.
