It takes a beating.
I built my first PC with this CPU, I couldn't believe the price, went to the store and got it for even less than what is listed here, apparently they were having a sale, so anyways. I shorted my first motherboard with this installed, the motherboard basically died, for all intents and purposes, and this still worked on a friends PC. When trying to take it out I accidentally bent 7 pins, and, obviously was scared to death, bought another MB and had it running and it worked! even with 7 pins ''repaired'' it worked with absolutely no troubles, and it works great, for that matter. Haven't had any issues, had it OC'd to 8 perfect plus and is working better than ever on a simple 2 fan setup. Absolutely must buy for first timers.

Lots of bang for the buck here!
This AMD Phenom II 955 is in fact the Black Edition, even though the listing does not actually say so. On a good motherboard, these can be extreme overclocked. I have run several of these at 3.7 GHz for extended periods with just a high-end air cooler and good case air flow. These have become a real bargain lately for those wanting a powerful gaming box for low bucks. I have built over 500 AMD-based systems, many of them overclocked, and NEVER have had an AMD processor fail on me. Just keep'em cool and they run forever.

Bought barebone kit - satisfied with purchase
I bought a barebone kit that included this processor. Very happy, system is quick. Can't beat the price, paid $261 for the kit, added 16 gb ram and 120gb SSD, all added up about $500 bucks.

Good upgrade
Stretching a few more miles out of my old system with this upgrade. It may not be the fastest on the block but it still works like a champ and has lots of overclock headroom.

Great!!
Have been AMD user for quite some time and was time to upgrade system. Is a good move and easy to install (watch out for the pins though they will bend easily).

Awesome
Always been an AMD fan for the best bang for the buck. Currently running at 3.6 ghz on a stock style heat sink and fan. Running stable and fast.
