Better than the rest

I was looking for a Gigabit switch than can definitely push the whole bandwidth through. This cutie's internal circuit is much faster than Gigabit so if you have several Gigabit devices connected to it, it should still be able to give max. throughput without issues. I didn't have good experience with Netgear before but I'd buy this again without hesitation. Metal case is an advantage, the heat can be dissipated better. (My router has a plastic case and it overheats sometimes.) The internal cache is the same as with other brands. The only issue I found is that even though it supports jumbo frames, when I turned them on at my devices, the throughput dropped to about the quarter. I didn't investigate further, my throughput is now constrained at my computers not my switch.

Does what it's supposed to do. Simple plug and play.

Excellent Quality and Easy to Use

It doesn't get any easier than this. No set-up cable type detection makes this truly plug and play. TD prices are always excellent, so this is a no-brainer... Get it!

Have the wireless hooked up then the switch in the wireless,, 4 pc's 2 laptops gaming with no lagging or disconnections!

Trouble for a Novice

I had a difficult time re-establish my network so that all computers on my network could print on both connected printers. Even now, one computer cannot print to the laser printer but can print to the inkjet. Someone blamed my Apple (wired) router for this. This router has only 3 ports which is why I needed the Netgear network switch--to add more ports. I have no idea how to resolve this problem or whether there is something I'm not doing right, but it is a bit frustrating to spend this kind of money and not have the same capabilities as I had with my replaced equipment.
