GPS arrived in unworkable condition

I followed the directions to the letter, but when i started to type in the word Illinois for a destination, you could not type it in. I tried numerous times, but the letters would not type. Sent it back and this company did return my money... I have had good luck with other refurbished items, but this one was a bust.

Good price and overall value

Replaced my Nuvi 360 with this as the 360s maps needed updating and this give me a new device with lifetime maps, new battery and larger screen for much the same cost as a map update. As a GPS guidance I am happy with it, but can't say I see any real improvement over my 360. However it has several annoyances. First, the internal memory is not big enough for the North America maps, so you have to add your own flash card before the NA map can be loaded. Second, the sensitivity of the touch screen is horrible, with some spots hypersensitive and others next-to-impossible to get to register a touch. So it is really frustrating when trying to use any functions requiring typing input. My old nuvi 360 is still much better.

Not the best but works

For the price it is a good value, I could easily hook it to my computer, download and update the software, although it took a while to charge. I did not see any mention to Mexico maps, next time I'll visit Tijuana I will check if it works at least on border towns, and for last, it has to be on the dashboard, if it is somewhere in the inside of the vehicle it looses the signal and freezes. But it has taken me a few places I needed directions to.

good product - lacks some features

Pro - easy to use Con - I could not update the maps with my Mac - had to use a PC - then no problem Con - it does not give a good overview of the the route it recommends. Other navigators give a choice of several routes with different times and road types. I could not find this feature and I miss it.

Didn't work straight out of the box

After spending a few hours downloading the new maps, I tried to use the unit for the first time, only to find out that the back button did not work (found this out searching for the starting country). Customer service was great about getting it returned, but still a frustrating experience. Seems like a basic problem that could have been caught prior to shipping.

Excellent Buy

PRO: Great product for the price. Lifetime map updates an excellent deal. CON: Miss the easy attach and reattach to cradle that my Nuvi850 had. Must unplug this one every time. Also miss the FM transmitter for better audio on instructions.

Great deal

This refurbished Garmin offered free lifetime traffic and maps for slightly more than the cost of lifetime maps for my current Garmin. And, this Garmin has lane assistance and later improvements to the software. Although refurbished, it looks new and came all accessories. I'm very happy with my purchase.

Best Features for the LEAST Money$$$

I have used Garman's for over 4 years. I love them, the re-route features, address book, all of them. The newer ones allow you to avoid traffic, tells you where it is, how long the delat, speed limit, IF you are speeding, your speed flashes RED on the display. Elevation (for what ever reason) is even there. 2 trip displays, fuel used and even the COST of a trip based on current fuel prices. Hands free Bluetooth for handsfree phone, and on and on... You can not go wrong!
