Middle-of-the road device at bottom-of-scale price
I just had my first Sabrent USB hub fail on me -- as a hub. It still can charge multiple devices if they'll charge off of normal USB output. The clear plastic and crazy silver cable look like of cheesy, but it's a USB hub, not a showpiece. It ran 24x7 for several years, acting as a portable docking station for my Mac or my Linux netbook (whichever mood I was in) and it did a great job. It connected mouse, keyboard, printer, and backup drive. It really worked fine without a glitch until recently when it just stopped acting like a hub. It has a plug for external power, but I never had it plugged in. Whether that hastened its demise or not, I will never know. For the low price, I probably should have bought several so I had a spare. I will probably buy a more high-end model next time but it was good while it lasted.

mine stopped working
This was ideal for what I needed, but it just stopped working and made for a very messy ordeal. None of us could believe that brand new, out of the box, after only a few short weeks it quit working. It's connections appear to be loose and sloppy.

Works good and fast at 2.0, nice port access
I bought this because it looked like it would solve my prior port problems. Most hubs have close-together USB ports and with the bulky, non-standard device connectors these days, that means you wind up not being able to connect to all ports at the same time. With each port facing different directions, I have yet to have a problem using all ports at once. No drivers needed, my computer recognized it immediately. The cool blue light is just a bonus I didn't even know about when buying.
