Roku 2 XDS Review
I highly encourage this product. It is the next generation of Roku, similar to the original XR box, except that it streams much faster and still has the features like the original XR box. The remote that comes with the XDS is very user friendly and the color coded buttons are fantastic for people like myself who have a visual impairment. This is also the best box if you do not have an HDTV because it will connect to your older CRT TV with composite video directly, or through a DVD, VCR and even a modulator unit. Get the Roku XDS box while they are still available for the most flexible features around. A+++++++++

Blu-Ray, Netflix killer
Roku functions like a champion, I have the advantage of being an Amazon Prime member. There is no need to have any other hardware, except to play a DVD.

Compare to Blu-ray players
This is great with the wireless and pre-loaded apps. After I bought this, I bought a blu-ray player for $70 that has most of the same features - except the blu-ray is NOT wi-fi. Shop around, you might be able to get the same functions on a blu-ray player

Requires Credit Card for activation
good features for streaming NetFlix to your TV vi a wi-fi link; however the Roku brand requires you create an account and submit a credit card. If this is a problem for you, consider the Western Digital product.

EXCELLENT PRODUCT FOR THE NEXT LEVEL WITHOUT DVD s
EXCELLENT PRODUCT FOR THE PRICE. HOWEVER, A USB PORT (AT THIS LATE DATE IT SHOULD BE A 3.0) WOULD MAKE THIS PRODUCT MUCH MORE USEFUL. MOVIES COULD BE STORED ON HARD DRIVE CONNECTED BY USB CABLE, RATHER THAN DISKS. IN EVERY OTHER WAY, THIS PRODUCT FUNCTIONED PERFECTLY AND UNDER THE MOST STRESSFUL OF CONDITIONS.
