Not bad for the money
I agree with the other reviewer that the instructions in this device are in error. Directions are backwards. Instead of ''JBOD'' and ''BIG'' on the setting switch it is actually ''normal'' and ''JBOD''. The normal setting gives recognition as two separate and distinct drives, while JBOD setting recognizes the two drives as one. In any case, once you figure this out, it works great.

Good buy
This is an excellent external HD enclosure. Works very well, easy to assemble, easy to use! It is a bit noisy but it worth every penny we paid!

Difficult to install
The first unit I ordered was returned because it was defective. The replacement unit is not being detected by WIN 7. The drivers are not being installed and they are not available on the Ultra website. This may be a WIN 7 issue, but I'm not sure.

Happy
I am happy with this box and I would recommend it with one minor qualification. The drives just slip into the case and connect to the internal board and are immobilized with included mounting screws. This part is simple and intuitive. The fan is not silent, but not loud either and it has an external switch to turn it off if you want to. My only criticism is that I found the mode selection a little confusing at first and I suspect that the switch may have been mislabeled. When I set it for Big Mode I saw two independent drives in Win7 disk management. It was only when I selected JOBD that I got a single concatenated drive. To me this is backwards and confusing, but at the end of the day it works as it is supposed to, so I am happy.
