This product simply does not deliver the goods. Wired or wireless, does not matter, half of all core function of this device was simply broken out of the box.
My day job is as an embedded software developer specializing in networking -- I know this stuff inside and out. I bought today, will return tomorrow, will refuse even exchange. It's that bad.
Very limited range

What's supposed to be a "rangemax" router has less range than a standard G router.

The g&b wireless mode supports up to 54Mbps, need N for 130 and 270 mbps.
*************
so, if you have a G card that can connect upto 108 mbps, this will default to 54mbps.
I found out the hard way. I have a Trendnet g router that connects at 108 mbps but no range, with this Netgear I have good strength but slower connection unless I upgrade all my pcs with n wireless cards.

A must have for updating your old Netgear router. The reason I say this is because when I upgraded my Netgear g router to d-link I had problems configuring the settings so it works. Returned it and bought this little baby and was connected in seconds. I think even a monkey could do it since everything was numbered and the install wizard was so detailed it even showed little videos of what to do. My first Netgear showed a little resistance when installing but the tech support knowing what they are doing fixed it in about an hour. I can't say the same for the highly rated d-link wireless n router which was a headache for me and the tech support doesn't know what they are doing. It was so like ''Hello come again''(Apu). In summary this is a great first router and an upgrade router. I highly recommend it. If you have any problems just buzz Netgear support and I'm sure they'll get you up and running in no time.
