Easy to set up. Fast shipping. The picture is not quite as clear as I would like but you can recognize faces if close enough to the camera. I will eventually purchase better quality cameras. Great starter. Good deal for the price

Easy to set up, but getting internet viewing was difficult. Not compatible with Explorer 9. Instructions in manual were confusing. Tech support is great and the people very helpful. Cameras work well but a wide angle camera would have made the kit much better.

easy install had to call tech for help on network. software didn't work with IE9 but works fine with their net viewer. should have got the one with 8cams And the nightvision is realy poor quality. Daytime cam rocks. for the price good buy.

Decent security recorder.

Unfortuantely, returned the first one because Channel 1 failed constantly, but so didn't the next box. Otherwise, fantastic live display of multiple camaeras. viewable by Computer monitor, TV or cell phone. Tech Support can help with anything from the manual.. only..

Great product for the price

First surveillance system ive ever purchased or installed. pretty basic setup. if u can hook sat, video game system, etc then u can handle this. running wires from soffit through attic and down the walls was the hardest part. if u run into the same problem as i did with the spray in insullation and limited space to walk around then here is a simple idea. i used a cane fishing pole. pull soffit down near where youre gonna mount camera and feed the pole up. have a friend in the attic to tape lines to the pole and feed back towards soffit. im gonna cut and nail a piece of wood behind soffit for a sturdy mount. i would rec. doing a temp hook up after u open box to make sure everything works instead of realizing after mounting there are issues. would rec some kind of back-up power supply.

Works most of the time

I brought this system after my home was robbered Jan. 2011. It work fine until last month Aug. 2011, and now the system freezes up,If not checked daily it will stay frozen for days not recording anything. Be ready to reboot often. One of the camera went black I disconnected it. Lucky I have the 2yrs warranty.

Excellent Security Solution

I had installed another model of Night Owl previously before purchasing this one. I couldn't be more happy with the Night Owl systems. Everything works including the remote access capabilities, there is even an app for remote monitoring via your iphone. It doesn't get any better than this. Don't overpay for a security monitoring company, when this is all you need! Purchase the Night Owl Security System once, and never pay a monthly fee again.

Had a friend of mine install it , I also purchased the camera that goes with it besides the other four . One camera was fried . Called to send it back for repairs or they would replace it after I filled out paperwork sounded confusing so I will just be buying other camera. Still liked the unit
