Worked as advertised
Installed in '99 vintage PC. Getting the cable externally connected to the card was a little touchy, but when connected worked well.

Wow, fast and full featured
I often clone my entire C: for backup. The eSata connection allows faster backup than even a 2nd Sata harddrive in my machine - with similar hard drives connected. Of course, this is far, far faster than USB. On my machine, it does recognize devices attached to this card for booting.

cut to fit
Invisible external drive appeared (FINALY!) after cutting away case metal left of the card, so cord can fully insert. $0.05 shim under soldered connector is required to center it, but was somehow left out during factory assembly...weird and careless. Speed as fast as any vintage PCI slot could be.

Use to hot-swap SATA drives. Easy to install. Works like a charm. No problem installing software in XP Home edition.

Sata Controler
I installed this card into my computer cloned my old drive while I slept and then when I got up the ext morning disconected my old drive and booted to my new SATA drive that was connected to my PCI card. It was that easy.

Works well
I used this board to connect to an external hard drive that offered eSATA in addition to the standard USB2 interface. It worked well. My tests showed large files transfer about twice as fast via eSATA than with USB2. I wonder if USB3 will beat this when it comes out next year.
