Save your money and buy a slightly pricier PDA or LAPTOP. I failed to do my homework and didn't realize production of this model was discontinued in 2000. None of the software I downloaded from the web would run on this device, including those which claimed ''Supports Jornado 720.'' Instead, I always received a ''.... is not a compatible WinCE program.'' Thankfully, I did not purchase any programs, only the freeware trial.
This device is great, if you only need to check email from a dialup connection, build a spreadsheet, or create a TXT or DOC file, although the keyboard is very cramped for my fat fingers.
I tried to find drivers for my D-Link PCMCIA wireless card, but was advised D-Link does not support the Jornado.
It's a good little device, but you'll have a tough time finding any third-party software to run on it, and just about the time you track down the elusive software, the lithium ion battery will wear out and require replacing. Good luck! |

I bought one of these a few months back, it's very handy for taking notes in class. When it comes to drawing diagrams, that's what the stylus is for. If you have trouble hooking it up to your PC the trick is to (after installing Activesync) under communications in the start menu, hit PC link from the PDA instead of the PC. Make sure the control panel has the correct port selected. It's a great tool, battery lasts for a while, it can even play video with the right software. |

This is a nifty gadget, if a bit out-of-date. Getting a wireless or ethernet connection is tricky. You have to find a Type-II PC Card which is compatible with the Jornada's HPC2000 operating system. Can't buy just any wireless card. The HPCfactor website is very helpful and has a list of compatible cards and drivers.
This little guy can also be a bit tricky to run. Don't expect to play high-tech games or anything with flash or complicated java scripts, either online or off. Still, as a mini-laptop, it's truly amazing and has a great ''cool'' factor. Impress your friends! |

This nifty little gadget really is a mini laptop and well worth the price I paid. If I could still get the $100 rebate, I would buy another. The only problem was the initial installation and syncing with my desktop.The warranty techs were very helpful My own helpful hint-error message 680 (?) refers to a communication problem. There is nothing wrong with your equipment. Just go to HPJornada website for the solution. Dialup internet with my prepaid Bamnet is a little slow, but enough for my needs. I am sure wireless is better and faster if one needs it. |
