Works Great!
Pushed the modem into the slot, put the CD in the player, pushed enter and I was done. Works great!

Works with Windows 7
Works with Windows 7 with driver upgrade. Last modem got 41.2 best, usually 38.6. This is consistent 44bps.

Good deal For the Money!
I installed it according to intructions and it works good. The problem I found with it is unless you have a very clean line, you won't get above 28.8 Kbs. It works good other than that.

US Robotics has most features
Received the product in good shape. Installed it in a current production Desktop with Windows 7 (64 bit) and it was detected by the Operating System with NO (!) intervention by me whatsoever. While I haven't sent a fax yet, it passes the diagnostic tests and configures (for sending and receiving Faxes) normally. I don't need it for much..but...when I NEED IT...I need it! I expect it to be ok...it seems well constructed (even with a small speaker) and othewise looks like a normal PCI Card.

Hooray!
Okay. I'm a little ashamed to admit that I'm still using dial-up. But for home use it's enough. I go to the library for Internet stuff and fast downloads onto my flash drive, which I take back and forth. Anyway, I'm proud of myself for installing this hardware. I figured how to take the top off my desktop computer and insert the circuit board into what turned out to be a PCI slot... not PCI Express. I needed a small screwdriver. I hooked up my phone line to and fro. I used the included installation CD-ROM and I followed the manual's brief step-by-step instructions and--voila--the thing worked as promised. Darn! I just saw the price went down $5.

Lost faith in U.S. Robotics... completely.
I remember when it seemed U.S. Robotics actually took some pride in their products. Apparently they lost the concept.

Does not work with Vista 64bit
On February 22, 2010, I purchase a US Robotic 5670 56K PCI Faxmodem, Phonetool does not work with Vista 64bit. After downloading the driver and using 3 different version of Phonetool for Vista 64bit, I was not able to sent a fax. When I sent a fax, the receiving party's fax would rings but no fax was received, then Phonetools gives the following error message: Remote modem not compatible. After 5 month emailing, the information received from the Technician was that the other parties fax was not compatible. It did not make sense, because I did fax using my 2003 traveling HP Notebook with XP Home edition with an old fax modem, and it did work. On July 20, US Robotic 5670 Faxmodem was returned and purchased a HIRO H50003 Data Fax Modem and is working with Vista 64bit
