The USB PDA/Serial Adapter provides you with an external serial (DB- 9 male) Plug-n-Play connection for use with computers, notebooks, and hand held computing devices that support USB. The PDA/USB Serial Adapter has a standard type A USB plug.
This USB PDA/Serial Adapter provides PDAs, digital cameras, modems, and ISDN terminal adapters with high quality serial connections at a data transfer rate of over 500 Kbps. This makes the USB interface transparent to serial peripherals, allowing them to easily interface with USB computers. This eliminates the setup hassle found with traditional serial port connections. This device also supports energy saving suspend and resume operations.
The USB to Serial (DB9) Cable is your fast solution to utilize the peripheral with serial port in an easy-to-use environment such as plug-n-play and hot swap function. Works
Was a bit tricky to get to work with the 64-bit windows 7, so it lost points. Should be a little cheaper if the drivers are not that up to date.

Works on Win 7 & Win 7 Starter but not on Win 8
Bought two of these for communications during testing. There are several Prolific chips used in this cable, but the PL-2303HXA and PL-2303X do not support Win 8. Works fine on Win 7 but returned and bought Sabrent CB-FTDI USB2 cable for Win 8.

Excellent Cable for the Price
We needed this cable for a special machine we use in our office. I received the cable and installed it, but I needed to install the driver to make it work. I went to the Sabrent website as instructed in the support statement, went right to the driver that I needed - downloaded - installed and it worked perfectly! We're back up and running!

Good price easy to use
Bought this to connect my laptops to some of our boxes. Works well on both Win XP and Win 7 after right driver was installed. Good price and easy to use.
