Great camera overall
bought this camera because of the 42x zoom....easier than hiking with Dslr and various lenses that had to be changed all the time. I am very impressed with the images this camera produces and its ease of use. My only complaint is that the lens extends slowly especially when the battery is loosing charge.Even with freshly charged battery, the lens won't extend fast enough to catch and animal running by you on a hike.

Very good camera, good price
I have owned many cameras over the years. I haven't had this CoolPix P510 very long, but I beleive it is the best one yet. It has many features, a lot that I am still learning. It is easy to use. I would like the manual to be installed in my computer, but it will not. That is the only complaint at this time.

Glad I did my research - proved it's worth so far
I looked long and hard at cameras. This was a bit more than I planned to spend, but well worth it after my first vacation using it. Only this one trip so far (still in Prague in fact), but at least 400 pictures. I have not even gotten close to a low battery with GPS on. I admit I have not even begun to master (or even use) many features, but it is so intuitive, that I am very satisfied and sure I will grow into using all of those. I bought a large capacity Class 10 SD card and the transfer rate is phenomenal - this was a MAJOR frustration in my previous camera. The only fairly minor issue I have is that the GPS does not seem to lock quickly - but then, I bought it as a camera, not GPS.
