Great for the Price, Viewing Angles Not Great

A great monitor overall for the $165 I paid. The biggest potential drawbacks I found were limited viewing angles and missing some popular features such as USB ports, speakers, and no rotation ability. Visual quality is great, however, when sitting right in front of it at a desk or table. The screen can tilt up and downward. I'm very happy with this because sitting at a desk at home is my only intended use. This monitor could be a problem, however, for anyone who really needs to work in vertical portrait mode, or for a lot of business settings with small group meetings and collaboration sessions.

Good quality monitor

Vivid colors, even on VGA. HDMI is outstanding. No DVI connector, though. Very simple setup and friendly OSD menu. If I need an additional monitor, I would buy another one of these.

Delightfully pleased.

I don't know what others meant about washed out or strange colors with this display. I wondered about it a bit before I ordered. As soon as I hooked up the display (using DVI from my video card) I was presented with this ASUS Splendid display demo, which is pretty much a side by side demo of customized display settings. I have been using a NON LCD Asus display for a couple years and this one really shines compared to it with the brightness. After choosing a simple preset with the display (scenery mode) I didn't have to make any more adjustments. The display is vivid and the colors look great for what I am using it for. The only complaint I could have is that the display stand isn't as stable as I think it should be. If you bump into your desk, the stand will wobble a slight bit. But nothing that will cause it to break or tip over. Overall, great display at a decent price.

Strange colors, but pretty decent

I picked this monitor to be a secondary one to my MS238H ASUS that I bought a few years ago. This VS is definitely sharper than the MS, but the colors are definitely off, and it can't get anywhere near as dark as the MS. I would have returned it for another MS, but they are discontinued at this point so I'll probably just keep it, though it does irk me a bit. I've contacted ASUS and they tried walking me through steps to adjust it, but it still looks weird.

Great Value

Easy to set up. My desk is stable, so the monitor doesn't wobble as others mentioned, but if I shake my desk it does wobble more easily than my last monitor. The color is pretty good. I have hooked it up via HDMI and VGA, even at the same time, toggling between computers by switching the input without any problems. When hooking up via HDMI, you can plug your speakers into the back of the monitor in the audio out port. Navigating the setup menus takes a little getting used to. It is not intuitive, but manageable after a little trial and error. Overall a pretty nice monitor for less than $200. I wouldn't hesitate buying another or recommending to a friend.
