ProBook 4430s is pretty good

Have to say this is good HP quality. Have 1 issue that needs to be addressed. Sound card freezes and there is a pop. Have updated driver and still have this problem. Good computer otherwise.

What the Doctor Ordered

We needed a laptop fast when our Dell crashed on my wife the Graduate Student. This one delivered and she hardly missed a beat. All the software and durability we have come to expect with an HP. Nice laptop at a nice price.

Great i5 notebook for the price. As usual these guys out did themselves again.

Not just for business professionals

I am a graduate student and needed a laptop that was more sturdy and less likely to overheat than most. The aluminum housing is nice and helps with heat. The specs on the computer are amazingly fast for what I need in school, and the RAM has an open slot in case you want to double the 4gb to 8gb. It can also run dual channel. It feels comfortable and very solid. Having owned 3 other laptops that were more cheaply built, I now see that laptops must be built right. This one is amazing for the price. Now for the BAD: One month into owning the laptop, and the hard drive failed. Computer froze in the middle of Excel after seeming sort of hot, then reloading says there is no HDD. Surprise, surprise! The stock HDD is a Hitachi. UPDATE: HP helped replace the HDD and now a month and half later, the second Hitachi fails as well. Now I'm questioning getting a SSD, or if its the laptop as well. Pretty mad about this all now

Nice Basic Notebook

Perfect Work laptop. You get exactly what they say. I nice tough little laptop with all of the important things but not much else. Plenty of processor and battery.

It's a laptop and it works

Not sure what you are expecting, but it does everything I need. My complains are the following: the USB ports are on the side and up front (rather than on the side but toward the back). I find this frustrating (personal, I know). Also, IE crashes all the time. I am in the process of migrating my bookmarks to Mozilla (not sure this is an HP thing, but these crashes don't happen on my other computer).

Sturdy and secure- includes USB3

This does have one USB 3 port which was not in description. So I was pleasantly surprised. Perforfance testing on Windows 7 was slower than I expected due to the graphics. Maybe more memory would improve the score. Battery seems do due well.
