Ultra X-Wind High Performance CPU Cooler
As computer processors become more and more powerful, they typically generate more heat. Accordingly, air cooling solutions for processors tend to be large, heavy and loud. Ultra's X-Wind CPU coolers offer a balance of performance and price without being excessively loud or cumbersome. Because the X-Wind has several fins (as many as 120!), there is more surface area than a typical machined heatsink, so heat is effectively pulled away from the CPU and quickly dissipated. X-Wind's design allows for the use of a larger, quieter fan to push air in between the many fins. If you're disappointed with the noise from your current CPU cooler, fed up with higher temperatures or concerned that your behemoth two pound heatsink is going to damage your motherboard or processor, Ultra has your solution!

This fan is *huge*. I had to use my Dremel Moto-tool to grind off part of the fins so it would clear the first memory module. Also, the plastic display packaging it came in had at some point received a knock hard enough to shatter one corner of the packaging. The fan looked OK, but internally the fairly wimpy plastic tabs that connect the fan housing to the heat sink had also shattered. I epoxied the fan housing to the heat sink, and it works fine. Keeps my 3 GHz dual-core CPU to 86 degF.

this fan is deffinately HUGE!!! make sure you have enough room in your case. i just got mine in the mail and im gonna have to do some modifying just to make it fit below my PSU. hopefully i can figure out a way! i was not expecting the size so be warned, again, that this fan is enormous. other than that, it is made of tough materials so it should work fine.

For the value and performance... you really can't beat this fan...it is simple and effective! The fins get dirty rather quickly for me and need occassional cleaning (they all do) with compressed air. The fan is held on to the base with plastic brackets, so be careful when handling...my fan came broken in the mail upon arrival, but this is the second one I've purchased because it works so damn well! It is rather large, but will keep your CPU cool!!! I keep a digital temp probe between the fins; 27.5 C on average, until it gets dirty. You really don't need to spend more than this...IT IS A FAIR BUY!

This fan does keep my FX60 cool but it is also very noisy. It seems as though the fan is loose and rubs against the copper fins.

As stated by others this fan is HUGE but it sure does keep things cool which is what you want. Very little noise, works great. On my FX60 temps run between 35C and 40C not too bad at all.
