Sony Optiarc BD5300S blu-ray
I chose the Sony Optiarc because I plan on useing the Sony blank media(blu-ray). This optical drive is OEM, I have in the past always chosen the OEM Optical Drive with no issues. This company had the lowest price--even when paying SHIPPING-! Have not installed this product as of this date. My computer build is still in the planning stage.

Great Drive!
I have made many BD-R's with this drive. As the items description said, its a OEM drive. I knew right away there wouldn't be any software. Plenty free out there to use. I recommend this drive.

Works as advertised
I replaced a defective blu-ray drive with this one. A straight swap, no software loaded at all, and the computer found it, configured the driver and I am making DVD's literally out of the box. The only issue is that the button on the computer that is supposed to open the drive does not connect with the drive, so I have to open the new drive with Windows Explorer. I think that is fixable but I will have to open up the computer again (not my favorite thing). It's good enough for now.

Disappointing
I have yet to burn a blueray, but I was hoping to be able to watch one on my computer, but since this drive comes with no software, and there is no free blueray player available, it has been disappointing...

No Software
Extremly disappointed. No software included with OEM burner. I could have bought another brand for the same price and avoid having to buy software.

Worst Deal
Bought this burner and wouldn't fit in my computer. After I spent more money on a external case it would only burn and play CD's. I tried to playBlu-ray and regular DVD's in the drive and the drive wouldn't recognize them. Burned CD's fine. Updated the firmware which didn't fix the problem. Tried to contatc Sony about this but have yet to hear back from them.

Working perfectly for me
I had a Samsung that failed after a few months sporadically and stopped all together at the 1 year mark. It was a bit flaky from thr beginnng, but this drive is working flawlessly for me so far.
