Dead on Arrival...

Seems like a good deal but slower than I thought

I like everything about it. It is the size I wanted and has lots of memory and HD and I like the display. Battery life seems pretty good so far. I am very disappointed with the overall speed however. I bought the core i7 because I thought it would be fast. takes too long to boot and too long to load programs. I bought it to do some java and php development on once in a while and I think eclipse will just be too slow. I'm not sure why it seems so slow.

Nice laptop for the road!!

I bought this laptop and don't regret it. Very good performance and I like the size of it. It's perfect for the road!! Pros: processor, RAM memory, hard drive, size, the look, battery. Cons: maybe the video adaptor should be better. I would recommend this product if you need a compact laptop with good performance. Thumbs up!

Great value for the money!!

Its been a month and the laptop's been running fine. I just have one complain, about the inbuilt speakers. I knew they were not that good but the volume is almost negligible. I always use headphones or external speakers. Other than that its top notch. The processor though i7 are not the best ones but still do the job. Software-wise the graphics are the weakest part of the integration, as it does not have a dedicated graphics memory. But I am quite fine with it. Fast and portable. I hope it helps you guys to choose the right laptop for you.

I bought a refurbished U46E-BAL6

I have been using this computer for about a month now. I bought this computer because of the 8GB RAM and 2.7GHz processor with turbo boost. I am disappointed of the speed it promised to offer, and I am left to wonder why just browsing around the internet and downloading programs is the same speed as my low end Toshiba Satellite, which I bought for around $350.I was hoping to be blown away by the combined computing power of the RAM and processor, but the performance so far is sub par. I know that this model doesn't have a dedicated graphics, but the graphics on this is not even close to acceptable. This is my first Asus notebook and it will be my last. Overall, it's built is sturdy, there is much left to be desired with the speaker. If you are looking for performance, then look for something else or you will be very disappointed. Prior to this, I HAVE OWNED hp pavillion, sony vaio james bond edition, toshiba satellite, and acer.

Screamng Laptop Great Price

This laptop continues with the ASUS quality. Super fast, excellent keyboard. Nice and light. One small complaint, is they put both Speakers on the same side of the Laptop, made me think one speaker was dead... Other than that, YOU CANT GO WRONG with this one.!

Great Laptop

I use this as my primary computer and it has been working great. I was worried about buying a refurbished laptop, but it was in nice shape with just minor signs of use. I replaced the drive with an SSD and installed Ubuntu. Battery life is great, size is just what I want. The battery sticks out a little, so it is not slim like a macbook, but I like it because is provides space under the laptop for cooling. Only things I don't like are the placement of the usbs (in the front on the sides) and the dvd drive (not dual layer burner). Some reviews state that the screen is flimsy, I think its just fine.

Good Deal

Great deal. I can't really talk about quality since I have only had the system for a short while, but initial look and feel is top notch. Packaging on refurb was bush league at best and ASUS setup doesn't appear to be consistent across models even in the same series. Bottomline is it is best to have some computer knowledge to setup, not for the totally ignorant, but you don't need to be an expert either.
