Targus Universal Notebook Docking Station with Video
The Targus Universal Notebook Docking Station with Video is the first USB based docking station with true video output capabilities. This "One Touch" interface allows users to quickly and easily connect to an external monitor, keyboard, Ethernet, mouse, printer, speakers or other devices in a matter of seconds. This product is also the first docking station to allow users to connect through a single USB connection. The Universal Docking Station provides greater flexibility to commercial users and consumers because it is not notebook platform dependent. It provides a low cost alternative to traditional OEM docking stations and port replicators.
When the notebook is placed on top of the docking station, its unique shape provides a more comfortable typing position and allows for better cooling of the notebook. Another factor unique to Targus’ Docking Station is the "Always On" capability. A button on the back of the device allows two of the four USB ports to always have power, whether the notebook is powered down or in sleep mode. This allows USB devices plugged into the docking station to continually have power or to recharge. A great use for the "Always On" feature is to continuously charge devices such as mice, phones or PDAs. Targus’ four USB ports are also adapter friendly, meaning they are spaced twice as far apart as typical to allow any size of adapter to be plugged into the port.

I nearly bought this until I did a little googling. This has terrible reviews around the web--make sure you check before you buy. This product has known issues with Vista, the video thru' USB is reported to work very poorly, and many people report unfixable driver issues. If you do decide to buy it, it's cheaper at Amazon.

This product sucks! The worst computer accessory ever purchased. The video only supports limited resolutions. The VGA to USB is horrible. The high speed internet would not work. I called Targus and they concluded that it was an issue with my ISP. Weird! How bout that for customer service. The only thing that this has saved me from in plugging in is the speaker connections. I already owned a USB hub. This is an expensive USB Hub! Don't waste your money. 5 hours to try to get this to work and the end result is that I still need to plug in my VGA, Bluetooth mouse and keyboard, ethernet, USB all-in-1 MFC(cannot scan when plugged into the Targus), power cord for laptop and 1 extremely useless Targus ''docking station''. All for (at the time) $129.00 and half a day to setup. Nice Targus. You suck! Last ever Targus product.
