The HP ProBook 4530s is a great value!
Purchased this laptop for my business to replace an aging desktop. Added the extra 4GB of RAM. That made a big difference in processing speed. I needed the Windows 7 Professional OS to be able to run in XP Mode as I have some older programs that aren't capable of running under Win. 7. I was pleasantly surprised to find the Virtual PC already located in the Programs file. I can easily toggle between Win. 7 and XP. Have only used it a week, but liking this laptop very much. Soft touch keys feel very solid, as does the construction. Only weak point I have experienced, to date, is that the touch pad is not very responsive. If my finger is dry, I have to dampen it to get a proper response. This is no big deal to me as I disable the touch pad and use a wireless mouse with all my laptops.

Great laptop for the price
I went back and forth on several different models before settling on the HP. Out of the box it came with 4 GB of RAM but before i even turned it on I put 4 more GB in. At 8GB this laptop doesnt have any problems opening programs. Decent size storage for my needs. I have yet to use it for putting home videos on DVD, which is one of the things I use my laptop for, so I will need to see how that goes. Overall a good value and I am satisfied. Only CON I have is that the mouse is not centered. Not critical because most times I use an external mouse anyway becasue I hate touch pads.

Solid PC
Very happy with the price, speed and overall performance of the HP laptop. Especially liked the better build compared to the regular lineup of HP PCs. Bought two of them. One a year ago, one recently for my wife.

NOT AT FIRST
ok so i got this laptop for school! im taking IST information systems technology. at first this laptop was horible... it is full of bloat ware it was extreemly slow!. so i installed a fresh copy of windows 7 pro than put the corect drivers on it, let me telll you this thing is a beast! for what i paid, it is a very fast very cheap machine. i would not recomend this to some one who is not an avid pc user with some tech knowlege! but if you are and do... this is for you!

Ist one damaged
First one I received was damaged. The outside box it was shipped in was fine. The inside box had a hole in it and the laptop had a huge dent on the backside of the screen. Whoever packed almost had to notice the hole in the box? Got the second in less than a week. Review is for that one. The layout of the cursor arrows is a little tricky to use. Overall good value for the price.
