I plugged it in and it worked!
I hooked the legacy-free PC to the printer using this adapter, Windows recognized the printer, and I was immediately able to print.

Works great but for PRINTERS ONLY
Nice option to add a parallel port via USB to a computer that does not have native parallel support. THIS ADAPTER WORKS FOR PRINTERS ONLY. It installs in Windows Device Manager as a USB Printer Support and NOT as an LPT port. Therefore its utility is restricted to printers only. It will not operate other parallel devices.

Easy problem solver
I have an old HP LJ 5 MP I keep as a backup printer. The newer computer I recently got has no parallel port. All I had to do was wait for the drivers to load automatically (Win 7-64) when I plugged everything together and the printer worked.

Only for printing
I purchased this to be used as a port to connect a cnc machine, I don't think it can be used for anything other than printing. I did not see it in the fine print, but I tend to not read it... It may be a great cable for printing...

Works Great with WIN 7 & HP1100A Printer
Easy to install. Basically plugged it into the existing printer cable and a USB slot. WIN 7 loaded the driver and it is working flawlessly.

Great cable & great buy
I have an HP deskjet 6122 printer that has a 25 pin IEEE cable. This conversation cable works great with my printer. I installed the printer software on my laptop and plugged in the cable and my printer worked immediately. My HP 6122 printer is a workhorse and easy on ink. I was not ready to give it up. I highly recommend this parallel converter cable.
