Used this with a Dell. From the get go performance was fluky. It would work, then freeze. Disconnect the dock, then re-plug, and it would work. Work for a week, then same thing. If we used the laptop off the dock, next time it was plugged in, no connection to desktop peripherals. Didn't mater which USB port we used. Dell was new, and USBs work flawlessly with all other devices. Tossed the Targus in the trash.

Update the drivers off the site!!

Initially I had an issue with the drivers locking up randomly. These were the drivers that came with the CD. Went to Targus' website and found the latest drivers. Updated them and so far so good! (2 months no problems) I have 2 of these for two of my users who arent able to use OEM docking stations.

Works Great

Got new laptop with no VGA or DVI output only HDMI and my monitor did not have HDMI. Installed the drivers 1st, as per the instructions,on to the laptop. Connected the usb mouse, usb keyboard, usb printer, DVI monitor (23 inch 1920 x 1080), network cable and power cord to the docking station. Connected the docking station to the laptop via one usb port and everything worked! You also need to connect power to the laptop. Would be nice to have one more usb port on the back of the docking station for my iPhone, there is one more on the side but the the back would have been nice so the wire is hidden. I also like that it lies flat and doesn't stand up like other docking stations.

I had a laptop that did not have an HDMI port so I got this docking station and I now can have a HDTV hooked to my laptop instead of a normal screen.

Got a new laptop and needed a docking station. This did the trick quite nicely. The DVI through the USB (my second monitor) is a little laggy and you couldn't play games or do anything intense, but it plays video and handles everything i throw at it with office, ie, and other productivity type applications. I have my main monitor connected directly to the laptop via HDMI cable. I wouldn't recommend this as highly if my main monitor was using the docking station DVI to USB connection. Connected throught the docking station, I have a monitor via DVI connection, a usb keyboard and mouse, video camera, speakers, microphone, printer via USB, T1 cable(internet-network access), and a laptop cooler usb cable for power. So to connect my laptop when I get to work, I only need to connect my power adapter, the HDMI main monitor cable (I use dual monitors) and the docking station connection. Simplifies my connections quite drastically. All in all, good device.

Do not buy this

Setting up and installing this one is a quite a pain. I cannot imagine how much an average computer user will take to setup this docking station. USB and audio ports work fine but the video port did not work. I do not suggest anyone to buy this product.

Works fine

As with most electronic devices sold today could use a better owners manual. Its doing mostly what I wanted with printer and monitor attached. However I have yet to figure out how to adjust the various monitor settings. My monitor is not full screen using the dock, but that is probably something to do with me as I am somewhat computer illiterate. I am using with Windows 7.

Expensive USB Hub

Driver loaded and worked well to start with driving a 24in monitor, speakers, USB backup drive, USB mouse and keyboard, USB phone sync - then a gray screen. Gray may be better than the infamous blue screen of death, but is no more functional. Contact with manufacturer resulted in a long series of trying updated driver (worked again, but random system freezes), running with no USB devices (same result) and decreasing to a instant migraine inducing low resolution. At that point, I gave up and have the monitor connected directly to the analog video port on my laptop. Originally kept it plugged in to use as a USB Hub, but it's not really any help so it's now a passive prop for my laptop. When it worked, it was okay (clear except with significant flicker in Media Player), but not worth the hassle of crashes and dealing with product support. I think driving DVI video, USB devices, and speakers (and microphone) are too much to push through one USB Port with current drivers.
