Give the Gift of Color!
Motorola V3 Razr Unlocked GSM Phone Magenta!

The famed Motorola RAZR is now available in an eye-catching magenta color. Seeded to a select group of fashion elite and Hollywood “it” girls, this svelte mobile boasts advanced technology, superlative design and enticing color while its shocking measurements make it one of the slimmest phones on the market. Rich functionality, performance excellence and design innovation give the user a total sensory experience – from photo messaging to hands free connections to superlative metallic finishes.

The Moto Razr V3 is expertly crafted to deliver exceptional performance. Inside the ultra-thin design are advanced features like MPEG4 video playback, Bluetooth® wireless technology, a digital camera and more. And with the precision-cut keypad, minimalist styling and metal finish, the V3 looks just as beautiful as it performs. Plus, the Motorola V3 Razr works on these GSM Networks: GSM 850, 900, GSM 1800 and GSM 1900.

The real difference is in the details. See who’s calling, in color, without opening your phone — the large internal display is complemented by an impressive external display. The precision-cut metal keypad reacts to the lightest of touches. And the features you can't always see are equally impressive, like quad-band GSM — for global calls where GSM network coverage and roaming agreements are present.

I bought this phone a year ago for my other half. Out of the box the charger wouldn't charge the phone. I went to a local Cingular store and they tried four chargers before one worked. They said they had lots of problems with this phone not charging. I went straight to Motorola and explained the problem and told them I needed a new charger that worked. They refused to cover any warranty because the phone came from Malaysia. (They also insisted there was no charging problems with Razrs.) I asked them if they were the same Motorola there as here, in other words, did they not make money on the sale of these phones. They didn't answer my emails. I contacted Tiger and of course they overnighted a charger free of charge. This is the third Motorola phone that has fallen to pieces on me. I won't buy from Motorola again, but Tiger is great! (The phones just die or break into little pieces. Buy the extended warranty)

I bought the pink version to replace an identical one that went belly up in the water. It's my impression that my ''old'' US and this European version are identical in quality, color and function. The same color variation that's present on the new European version is present on my 1 year old US version. The European version has slightly different firmware(multiple language support, different ringtones etc-minor stuff). It works fine on the Cingular/ATT network. All the basic features work the same. Just pop in the SIM card and it works. The charger is identical except for the prongs but it does have an adapter. It does not come with a comprehensive manual, so be prepared to find it on the web if you need it.

Didn't come with a US adapter, I had to spend $31 at the store to buy a new charger. The reviews below said that it came with an adapter for the foreign charger, but mine did not.

Hey Hey, Easy on the womenism. I am a man and defiantly have the pink razr. I love it, can't get enough of it. And there is absolutly nothing wrong with a guy having this phone. If a girl can have a blue phone, I can have a pink one.

What You Should Know

What is Bluetooth?
Bluetooth wireless technology is a short-range communications technology intended to replace the cables connecting portable and/or fixed devices while maintaining high levels of security. The key features of Bluetooth technology are robustness, low power, and low cost.

It’s more than seeing. It’s believing.
Before wires, everything was wireless. Nature found ways to connect it all—often on a very mysterious frequency. Bluetooth wireless technology takes its prompt from nature: harmonious, intuitive, seamless. Products with Bluetooth wireless technology communicate with a sense of purpose and elegant efficiency. Today, Bluetooth wireless technology can eliminate wires. In the future, it may make the word “wireless” entirely obsolete.  By then, Bluetooth freedom will be second nature.

Designed to make connectivity invisible and reliable. A perfect convergence of extraordinary technology and elegant simplicity. Hundreds of companies are on board. Thousands of engineers have contributed. Standards have been set. Specifications have been approved. More than one billion devices are in use. And people are experiencing just how far they can go.

It’s integrating every dimension of productivity.
Where do we work? Desk. Sofa. Car. Hotel. Kitchen. Plane. Yard. It’s not one location; it’s everywhere. It’s not one application; it’s many. With Bluetooth wireless technology, our options are endless. It’s where we’d most expect it and where we’d least expect it—and everywhere in between. It adapts to how we work and how we live, transforming everyday tasks into everyday solutions. Surprising, nimble, ubiquitous. Seeking new applications and finding new opportunities—everywhere we turn.

Technically, Bluetooth is a specification for the use of low-power radio communications to wirelessly link phones, computers and other network devices over short distances. The name "Bluetooth" is borrowed from Harald Bluetooth, who was a king in Denmark more than 1,000 years ago (Computer people choose the strangest names!). Bluetooth technology was designed primarily to support simple wireless networking of personal consumer devices and peripherals, including cell phones, PDAs, and wireless headsets.

Note About Cell Phone
Expansion Memory!

Many cellular phones come with a slot for expansion memory, such as: Mini or MicroSD, MemoryStick Micro, or others.  Expansion memory is a great way to safeguard photos, contact lists, and other files.  On our product pages, we may show photos or diagrams of how this memory is inserted and used with the phone for informational purposes, since we try to be as comprehensive in our explanation of each phone's features and functions as possible.   However, additional expansion memory cards are NOT included with the phone (unless explicitly stated).

Remember, regardless of the brand of your phone, use only compatible micro/mini SD, or memory stick cards, approved by your phone's manufacturer for use with your device. This is because not all expansion memory is designed for the same specifications (such as read/write speeds and capacity).  Incompatible cards may damage the card and the device and corrupt data stored on the card.

Also, when inserting a memory card into your phone, your phone may prompt to format the memory card.  When a memory card is reformatted, all data on the card is permanently lost. Some memory cards are supplied preformatted and others require formatting. Consult your memory card's user guide to find out if you must format the memory card before you can use it.  If you are using a memory card in your phone that was used on another device, such as a digital camera, or a PC, exercise caution as viruses can be transferred in this way.  Never insert a memory card into a computer that does not have up-to-date antivirus software.  Only open files on the memory card that are known safe.  When in doubt, insert the card in a compatible computer and run a antivirus scan.

What are GSM and GPRS?
GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications) has become the most successful global mobile technology for mobile phones and digital cellular networks with more than one billion subscribers. GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) brings the possibility of data services and applications based on Internet Protocol (IP) to GSM mobile networks. In current network implementations, GPRS data transfer speeds are between 30 to 40 Kbit/s.

What do GSM and GPRS do?
GSM is designed to deliver high-quality and secure mobile voice and data services to mobile users. Its success is based on its inherent support for roaming and interoperability across a number of different networks and across a number of different countries. GSM is available on multiple frequency bands globally and offers the widest selection of mobile services and mobile terminals currently available.

GPRS enables fast connections through which information can be sent and received as the need arises, without having to wait for a dial-up modem to establish a connection. This is why GPRS devices are sometimes referred to be as being an 'always online' technology. And because pricing is often based on the amount of data transferred rather than the connection time, this has made GPRS applications such as email popular with small and large businesses around the world.

Benefits of GSM & GPRS

  • International standard - one and the same mobile phone works across continents
  • International roaming capability for professionals travelling overseas
  • Well established interoperability of GSM/GPRS devices and networks

What is Java?
Java is a software technology developed to provide a common base for running applications across a wide variety of computing platforms. It consists of a programming language and a run-time environment.

Java applications can run on servers, personal computers, mobile phones and other devices. Because the capabilities of these computing platforms vary, Java has evolved into 3 editions:

1.) Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) - for high-end business machines
2.) Java 2 Standard Edition (J2SE) - for personal computers
3.) Java 2 Micro Edition (J2ME) - for smaller handheld devices such as mobile phones and PDAs

The Mobile Information Device Profile (MIDP) is a key element of the J2ME, defining a platform for dynamic networked applications. Developers using MIDP can write applications once, then deploy them to a wide variety of mobile devices. MIDP has been widely adopted as the platform of choice for mobile applications.

How does it work?
Software written in Java is independent of operating systems, as the instructions are interpreted in the computer at the time when the software is run, not beforehand. Every computer or device that runs a Java application must have a Java Virtual Machine that adapts the application code for the specific device and before executing it.
