bad product
installed win xp 64-bit on this after 8hrs it started locking up and finely 3 separate blue screen events keep saying disk error this one just happened to be a bad drive.

worth the money
put it in adell computer had to keep 40 gig hardrive after switching programs to wd2500 runs alot faster, wd 2500 is really fast

Great Value So Far
Bought two drives to replace the aging 75MB WD Raptor RAID 0 drives in my 9 year old Dell desktop. The new drives installed easily and have performed well for the last month. It's no great surprise that the new, 3+ times bigger drives, are a bit slower (subjectively) than the old ones.

WD harddrives are a mid range drives. As a IT guy, I work with them all the time. This drive is good for the price.

Wrong drive.
Somehow i ended up with the wrong drive. They took care of this quick. Within a few days i had the right drive in my hands.

47 days later, not working
Out the box it was great on a new build. Then for some unknown reason I started experiencing boot issues into Vista. Safe mode didn't work, system restore didn't work. Re-install of OS didn't work. I had to pull out an old drive and install windows and run diagnostic to find that there were issues. WD drives are the only HDD's that I've ever experienced failure. I've had a Maxtor drive for 12 years that runs from a USB now. Still kicking.

Good Drive
I have always use WD drives. I found they are reliable. These blue drives are not as fast as the black drives but work excellent for a server. So far they are performing perfect.

Impressed
Installed a week ago and it running just fine. It is very quiet and so far problem free. Would not hesitate buy another one as needed. Had Seagate drives that failed one after another.
