A good replacement

I bought this to replace an older Prolific USB adapter that wouldn't work in W7. I had to grind off the end barrels to get it to plug into the computer. Surprisingly, W7 loaded the driver for the Prolific adapter and the Sabrent adapter worked just fine.

Just the ticket

Great product works on Mac and Windums. Comes with a driver disc. No problems no issues. Save your disc. I had an older product and couldn't get a driver for it on line. Delivery took about 10 days postal. If I order another I will specify UPS

Hard to setup, working well.

I used this adapter to interface a PAKRATT 232 (ham radio equipment) to a laptop running Win XP. The called for settings (300-7-E-1) did not work. However, 1200-8-N-1 does work. It shouldn't, but does. The product is working better than expected. Thanks. W9GWZ

Good product but be careful of end connectors

This adapter works great with win7 64 bit. Just one word of caution. If you are going to connect it to a piece of equipment that has a female 9 pin connector with female threaded barrel connectors you will either have to pry off the female barrel connectors on the Sabrent or get a serial cable to hook the 2 together.

Works great with Garmin GPS 76

This works great with a Garmin GPS 76 and is compatible with Garmin's MapSource running on Windows 7, 64 bit. Garmin has a similar product for three times the cost that states it will not work with 64 bit systems.

Unable to get it to work.

I bought this cable to connect my computer and a piece of ham radio equipment that uses a serial port. I've tried to get it to work with 3 different computers, one running Windows XP, one with Vista, and the newest one with Windows 7. The installation process requires downloading a driver (Prolific). I downloaded and installed the driver on all 3 computers but cannot get any of the computers to recognize the equipment So, this product is has proven itself useless to me. the product appears to be quality made. I just wish I could get it to work!
