Great Product - Just don't expect too much.
The RV042 is ROCK SOLID. I haven't had a single issue with it and I've POKED AND PRODDED quite a bit trying to get the best settings for my installation. As a gateway router for a fail-over internet line this unit is top notch. If your looking for extra bandwidth via Dual-Wan and your internet provider doesn't yet provide multi or bonded lines then this is the device to use. If your looking at this for the VPN features then this may not be the answer as I've read many posts about the 50 VPN's feature being a TOTAL OVERSELL. I didn't buy it for that. At the time, my DSL provider was having reliability issues and I wanted to insulate myself from their issues while also fully utilizing the full bandwidth I'd have to pay for if I had a backup provider. RV042 was the perfect solution.

Very good router.
Everything worked great. Bandwidth management very good. Connected one pppoe wan and one dhcp wan. No problems setting up. Highly recommended.

Tested, Tried, and Proven to Work
This has become my preferred router of choice for my SOHO clients. The dual wan solution works perfectly, bandwidth controls are awesome, and VPN is one of the simplest I have ever seen.

Setup still in process
My computer guy was able to convert my LAN and connect to the fiber optics internet lines, but hasn't been able to get the remote VPN access finalized yet. Probably just an issue of knowing how it works -- he was going to consult with a friend who's had more experience with this particular function.

Best linksys branded router I've worked with
I am the IT manager for a small business and have about 50 devices on my network that this router handles. I am used to working with the residential and small business WRV210 routers but this one has more features and better performance, than those other lesser models. There were barely instructions for this unit and it doesn't have a gigabit 4 port, which was disappointing.
