Does not support Ubuntu linux
Although the sales info says that it supports linux, that is only 2 specific linuxes. If you have Ubuntu linus, get an APC

Good Value
Good product for the price, last only 5-6 min with a power outage, but that is all you need to save your stuff before it shuts off. Or just have less power consumption on it. No problems yet, I had to get another since it worked so well!

1 out of 6 units failed
Purchased 6 of these UPS units for my company in early February. One of the six units just failed with only 6 weeks of use. The UPS produced a burning smell before it stopped working and part of the unit is partially melted. Not sure if this was a fluke or not - I guess time will tell with the other 5 units.

Works perfectly
Our of the box, plug it in and no problems. I bought it to back up my router which would quit from time to time, no doubt due to line fluctuations. No more.

Not To Be Trusted
The first time it had to respond to momentary loss of power, it fried. None of the Battery Backup receptacles work, but the none Battery Backup receptacles still work. This item is not to be trusted.

Would purchase again
Reasonably priced and operates as expected. Power outages are frequent where we live and we have a Tripplite UPS for each computer. I work at home doing desktop publishing and do NOT appreciate losing work because of a momentary loss of power, so this UPS is a good value to me.

Good experiences
TrippLite is a good brand. On other sites I've heard people talking about the quality of their products decreasing. From past experience I have nothing but good things to say (still have my five year old tripp lite at home). Just installed a number of these in various offices. At least I know they are good about their waranty.
