Seems like a good thing
I think this is a good thing to have, size and speed in a happy package. My experience with Seagate quality the last few years has been less than impressive, so I was shy about it at firs, but the idea of a hybrid drive is very appealing. Easy to install, Win7 was not thrilled about installing as it was not sure how to set up the partition, but other than that, it went ok. It is a doable upgrade, and can make your laptop go a couple more years.

decent performance
This hard drive is larger than my old hard drive, which is why I bought it. I had hoped it would be a LOT faster, but it isn't. It is a little faster on startup. I run some intensive engineering programs that use a lot of hard drive. This one is not any faster than my old 5400 rpm drive on these applications.

Fantastic performance-price compromise
In everyday use it feels pretty comparable to my SSD, so I can't complain there. The only times you really notice it's disk-backed is on large file operations, or loading things you use infrequently. Docked one star on perf for that, otherwise it's been perfect.

Great Laptop Hard drive
Had a Toshiba MK6465GSX hard drive on my Acer Aspire 5552 that died after two years. After much research specially on Cnet, I found this hard drive and ordered it. After installation, I also upgraded my laptop to Windows 8 Pro. Since then my laptop operation has been very smooth. The hard drive is fast and quiet. My laptop's performance is now much faster. This hard drive is bit pricey, but it's worth the investment...

Great for Video production
bought this drive for video production. The week after I purchased the drive it went on sell. So, other than paying a little to much for the drive its great.

Great for Gaming
After using standard hardrives, I decided to try something with a little more zip that would speed up my gaming fun. Wow, when I installed the XT 750GB Hybrid drive, I was stunned with the speed that my games would load up. On some loading areas of the games, I used to wait 20 to 40 seconds. Not now! They load within 5 to 10 seconds. This has definitely made my gaming experience more fun and enjoyable. I'm changing my other 2 gaming PC's to Hybrid drives. Hybrids give you the storage plus the performance. I'm happy they came up with this technology.
