Works as described... Plug n Play
I use this primary to access the console port on Cisco devices. The Cisco serial cable connects right up and I just leave it permanantly attached and in my bag. Works great with TeraTerm, Putty and HyperTerminal all on Windows XP and Windows 7.

Works Great
I've used this to connect to Siemens 6RA70 drives, Allen Bradley PLC5, GE SR750 relays, Satec power meters and a lot of other stuff. The biggest problem is when you unplug it and plug back in, it usually tells the computer the com port is still in use and switches to the next port. At one point it had Com 1-7 used up. Not a bad problem, but does require some tinkering to free them before you can reuse it. Cable could use a lot more length...it's really meant to be used with an additional RS232 cable and it seems sometimes they do not fit, so we removed the nuts.
