In my experience of working with GPS, I have yet to find as good a unit for the money. Not only did this provide the best ''bang for my buck'', I also received a free (didn't even pay for shopping) regional SD card. There are other turn- by-turns with more features, already loaded with all of North America for $1000 or more but I have no problem manually loading maps, on the rare occasion I need them, for over $600 savings. If you have no tech savvy, then I recommend you stay away from them altogether, otherwise this is the best deal you'll find for turn-by-turn. I have yet to find this unit for less than $600 in town. Good luck

Not bad for $319 + shipping. The map is pretty acruate. However the instructions are not all correct. Hey, it is a machine. It does not know my local traffic pattern. I saved entire Southern CA, Las Vegas, Phoenix area in the internal 80 MB memory. Magellan is also giving 256 MB SD Pre-loaded map free right now. It makes this deal even better.

This is a very powerful personal and business travel tool! First, keep in mind that this is not a ''plug & play'' electronic device. It requires you to follow the instructions and download maps into a SD memory card. This is easy and setup is a breeze as long as you follow the instructions. I can imagine that a lot of users just put the thing in their car without properly setting it up, and IT WON'T WORK, duh! A shortcoming of the 300 model is that there is not a battery, so you have to be using it plugged in with the included 12v power cord. Also, Magellan does not include a SD memory card...you have to go buy one yourself. You'll need 128MB minimum, which is around $20. This thing works great in the Memphis area, and I've also used it traveling to FL. The current maps seem to be updated and very accurate. Go get one and you'll never get lost again!
