Delighted
I have 1.3 TB of data, mostly in saved movies. I may run out of room on a single 1.5TB backup drive; I have two. This drive means I will not run out of room on a single backup as I upgrade. I needed unpowered operation as I am bedbound an my companion has fewer mechaanicl skills skills than our cat. A power cord tangle confuses her; the USB port powers this this drive. The drive on a USB 3.0 port transfers data at maybe 50 to 70 mb-s, the lower speed after a minute or so of multi-multi-gigabyte files. On a USB 2.0 port the speed drops to from 30 to the mid 20's. I do not get the faster speed when transfering directly through the laptop from one USB port to another using this drive and a USB 3.0 flash.

Lots of storage space in a compact design. Works good with my USB 3 ports to transfer large disk images fast.

Fast, Big, Cheap, Small
It can fit in my jeans pocket (albeit, lumpily so), but the USB 3.0 makes it a really fast way to back up my system and it's big enough to back it up and keep archives. I'm actually running it with a bootable partition as well as a backup partition (I run Mac OS X 10.7.5). So far it's great.

only works on usb2
i have an issue. My Passport when is connected on usb is always conecting to my pc, Asus G74s with Win7 Home Premium

A cheap way to get laptop hard drives
I was needing 2 1 gb laptop hard drives and they cost about 100 bucks each. I was able to get one of these onsale at best buy for 100 bucks, tore it apart and got (2) 1 TB laptop sata hard drives from the enclosure. so 2 drives for the price of 1.
