Absolutely love this SSD!

After reading lots of reviews I decided to pay a bit more for the Samsung SSD and ever since I bought it I have not had one single problem. Very fast, very reliable, very high quality! I am a huge fan of Samsung as I own three of their TV's a smart phone, a tablet, and a digital camera and like all of these other devices I have had not one problem. Samsung is quality and this SSD is no different. My Windows 7 PC used to take 45 to 60 seconds or more to boot into Windows and now its 15 seconds from the time I press the power button. Opening files and programs are also lightning fast with the SSD. I guess the morale of the story is you get what you pay for. Hope this helps someone else decide and hopefully they have the same experience I have had.

Working well after 1 year

The SSD arrived promptly, installed easily in my Antec 1200 and works well with my EVGA 680. I upgraded to Win7 in parallel so I did not have to deal with OS migration issues.

SSD Works Great - Things you need to know

First, the SSD is fast, and works great. Now the bad news. Likelh you will need to reload your OS in most every case. Read up on AHCI SATA settings, and make these changes in BIOS as soon as you install the new SSD drive. Take a shot with Ghost 15 or Acronis on a system copy. Best to have all your OS and Program install disks in hand, you will need them. This is NOT an easy transition.

Is SSD realy necessary?

When I bought my SSD I also bought a 10K RPM Velociraptor. I'm not a geek so I didn't do a lot of technical testing other than I installed the 10K RPM and loaded up System 7 64 bit and my flight sim software, then I did the same with the SSD. I did not see any difference in performace or frame rates, so I'm thinking, was the SSD necessary?

Great SSD!! Includes Norton Ghost!

This SSD is a good deal for the money: It's fast! It was also very easy to set up and with the Wizard you can tune it for max performance. Nuff said!

So far, SO good!

This is my 2nd Samsung SSD (I also purchased the 128gb one for my laptop) and I couldn't be happier. Load speeds are insanely fast, and my games load up faster too. I have been very happy with Samsung and Tigerdirect!

Nice performance boost and easy install

This product performs as advertised, not only increasing the speed of my machine but also improving battery life on my MacBook Pro. Installation was easy, too. Of course, the performance boost is limited by your motherboard and if you don't have the latest SATA you won't get the maximum numbers quoted by the manufacturers and retailers. It also depends on your usage. For word processing and web browsing, you won't notice the difference. So, odds are you will be spending a fair chunk of change (and maybe going to a smaller drive than you had before) for a performance difference you won't actually be able to see in daily use. Until they hit economies of scale, these devices are worthwhile only for certain power users. If you are one of those users, the Samsung is a great drive.

Dramatic boost

SSD drives like this are the greatest bang for one's buck that is out there today. Comes close to booting instantly, compared to the 60-90 second boot times normally, and loading times for programs and data is just outstanding. I've had several of these Samsung units and they are all flawless.

It is fast!

A significant reduction in boot time, quiet and just slightly warm to the touch. Less power consumption as I leave my machine on 24-7. Simple installation keeping in mind that you will only have about 238 GB available for OS use when using Windows 7 64 bit. Paper work with code for Batman download was missing (box was sealed) so I contacted manufacturer and they emailed code to me.
