Good Deal!!
Bought this for my son as he drove off to college... it gets him there and back home (and to a few other places I'm not so crazy about)... Great deal at a Good price!

Very good for an occasional user
As an occasinal user, and comparing with my previous 4 or 5 year-old TomTom XL I am happy with this purchase, becasue of the updated maps, faster response time, better graphic displays, and the very discounted price.

Good for the price paid
I had an old Germin that kept loosing satellite reception. I bought this TomTom at a very cheap price. It have never lost satellite reception. The Tom Tom is a bit slow at updating vehicle movements. Compared to my 5 year old Germin, the maps and lack of streets and addresses with this TomTom are terrible and yes I did update the maps. If you are going to use this once in a while then great. However for a person that drives all day and uses GPS all the time, I would not recommend. I will go back to a Germin product.

Works great!
I am very happy with this GPS. It got me from Boston to Baltimore without any trouble. Works great around town too. The only feature that's missing is that it doesn't read the names of the streets, but I can live with that. I love how it shows what lane I need to be in on the highway.

Limited Memory
Product has limited memory to load even its' basic functions. I had to go in via computer to 'root' out enough room to load the upgrades to the system. One file, in particular would not delete on upgrade to newer version and had to be identified & deleted by hand. Memory is now 'full' with no space available to add additional features. No provision to add additional memory. Actual functioning of the unit is OK, but probably not as much and feature-rich as the built-in program on my Blackberry. Not bad value for the highly discounted price that I paid for it. Sure glad that I didn't pay full price.

Easy to see screen
The only issue is having to wait almost 2 seconds for the screen to register a new request when it's on. Trying to figure out how to turn off the 2D and 3D display it's kind of annoying to always see on the screen would be nice if it was hidden. I'm hoping it was something l turned on by accident and can be turned off in the menu. Otherwise it's a great unit at a great price. The only thing missing would be if it recognized speech to plot trip much easier but hey that would cost a lot more so it's worth the money for what it does. I am very pleased with the unit so far.

Works as advertised
The tomtom is a quality GPS that does what it is supposed to. I argue with it on some routes, but it always manages to get me there.
