Awesome upgrade from i7 920

I just rebuilt my home desktop and I wasn't going to swap the motherboard and CPU at all, just upgrade the video card, but the price was good on a new i7, so I ended up getting this CPU to replace my 3+ year old i7 930 in the 1366 socket. I didn't expect much improvement from the CPU, but there is a huge difference. The newer i7 runs circles around the older one on video compression tasks. If feels like it's nearly twice as fast at complex encoding operations, but I haven't benchmarked it. I highly recommend this upgrade even if you already have a relatively modern CPU.

A Beast

I have had it in my pc for about 2 mounts now, I LOVE IT. I have tried to overload it. I have not done so yet, I have Skyrim, Diablo III and a few others set to the max and it does not even skip a beat. And for video rendering it really runs with that. I had a AMD quid core on a MSI mobo and there is no comparison. My new system is a this beast on a SUS SABERTOOTH Z77, 16 GB Corsair Dominator Platinum, ZOTAC GeForce GTX 550 Ti and a Corsair CSSD-V128GB OS drive. The only thing that came close to a con on the CPU was the price, but it you want a better CPU you have to pay for it.

Crazy Fast!!!

This CPU handles everything straight out of the box. It is a time saving investment. Programs just simply open. No wait, they're just there. I personally see no need to OC'. A great product if your willing to pay the money.

Good but I was expecting more

All things considered it is a good processor, but I was expecting it to be faster than it is for things like start up or shut down. For the most part though it has done its job and I have yet to fully push it to its limits.

Can't beat it

Excellent price and more power then I will ever need. Install was easy as usual. But stock cooler is not adequate for overclocking, which you know you will do with this processor. Mine hit 98C overclocked until I got a liquid cooled unit. Now it never goes above 50C. No slowdown in ANY game you throw at it.

Intel i7-2700K Quad Core - Warp Speed Ahead

This processor is one screaming banshee from the moment you hit the power switch until it shuts down. The possibilities seem endless. All I know is when I start an app up now, if I blink I miss it. This could spoil anyone in a heartbeat. Warp Speed ahead Scotty!
