FAIR WARNING: Never buy an ARCHOS product.

Less than a month after getting my 101 tablet, I had to return it to ARCHOS for replacement because it would not turn on. It took a month for them to replace the device. Now, less than a year after having the device replaced, the replacement will not turn on. ARCHOS now wants $77 to replace the replacement!

DO NOT BUY ARCHOS!!!

I bought a 101 G9 back in February, and it was fine up until about a month and half ago, when the screen started to go fuzzy. I sent it in to be fixed, and today, over a month since being sent in, it is not fixed and returned. Archos customer service is horrible, as my messages go unanswered most of the time and their answers are vague and confusing. Not the worst priced tablet, but not worth the money. I'd never buy from Archos again.

Good value

It is a good product for the money. The speed is not bad, and has a good apps market for this device. The only con is the WiFi radio seems a bit week. It works good around the house, but sometimes looses connection even when phones and laptops do not.

Wouldn't know it's a refurb!

Well packaged and easy to set up. After charging the tablet the OS upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich was a breeze. WiFi setup was easy as well. Logged right into Google Play and was able to download all of my previous Android apps. This is a great deal.

Very good

I did see the problems that other users mentioned, when I first got this Tablet. But after I did free upgrade to Android 4, it's working great now. This is what I did---------------- 1. Setup wireless to connect to my access point. ---------- 2. Setup G mail account to open market. -------------- 3. Go to ''settings'' then ''about phone'', click ''check new OS version'' or something like that. ---------- 4. It did download and install and reboot. ------------ 5. Working now. ------------ Note: Some times it still does some strange things, but all Android do. :)

Great Product

I've had the Archos 7, and Archos gave great support when it puked. This new one is great, I gave it a four for performance because sometimes the screen blacks out or drops a web page. Other than that I love it. I still use the little one as an ereader, and the G9 when I want to cruise the web quickly. I have installed the paid Norton protection and Windows office for mobile, and that makes it much better for my needs.

Needs some tweaking.

Had to send original unit back due to not charging consistently. Archos was great, talked to live person and accepted return and came back fixed a week later. As to unit itself, charge time is long. Only one usb, micro usb format. Must have hard to find adapter to plug in standard usb thumb drive so not yet sure this works. Micro SD slot is just below micro USB port and east to spring out. After losing one SD card, I glued the next one in.

good for the price

i bought this product because it was fairly priced. I got it in 2 days just like they said. it works OK. the screen sometimes just blacks out for no reason, and sometimes the tablet just turns off by itself while in the middle of watching something. for the price it's not bad. The pictures are very clear, and my daughter loves watching movies on Qit.

Can it or can't it?

According to the installed owners manual on the 101 G9, you can tether off of your cell phone as long as you have a data plan. According to ARCHOS tech support, tethering is NOT supported by the 101 G9!! So....which one is it?? Main reason for purchasing this device was for using on the road for business and not worrying about having to be close to WiFi. Otherwise, this is a great little device for the money. Just wish I knew ahead of time the truth about tethering with this device. I would have purchased one that supported tethering.

Great Tablet - Get One

I am a skeptic whe it comes to claims and testimonials, but, the Archos 101 G9 is a great piece of equipment. I didn't know they could do so many things that a full sized computer can do. I am very pleased with my new Archos and would recommmend it to anyone. Also the webcam works great with skype.
