Great Tablet if it didn't keep breaking

First unit died within first day. Replaced with second unit but continued to have firmware problems causing constant reboots and re-installation of operating system. Finally speakers broke and sent to SquareTrade to fix. Returned, but system would now not download any Android applications. SquareTrade could not fix and returned original purchase price. Really liked the unit when it worked, but decided to replace with Apple IPad Mini - now that is a quality product but paid a higher price.

Good Tablet

This is my 1st tablet so I really don't know much about them.I wanted 1 because I was tired of lugging my laptop around. Wasn't real familiar with Android os but very easy to figure out. I'm glad I bought this because it wasn't alot of money. I really like it and everything works well. I would recommend this tablet to anyone. It's great.

Loving it

I must say upfront, i am a long time archos customer, this is my 5th archos product, and i was predisposed to liking it. That being said, i had decided i would like a tablet to fool around with, and not actually needing one, price was a major consideration, and having several android devices already i leaned heavily in that direction, and the archos 80 looked like exactly what i wanted. It has not disappointed me. The only things i do not like about it are the screen problem you'll find mentioned, if i touch the back firmly it deforms on the front, but they say they've fixed that, and sometimes after being on several days it will lag when playing video, but generally a reboot will fix that, a minor nuisance for me but others may not think so. All in all, it is good value for money, and i find myself using it for reading ebooks, streaming video both from my home pc and netflix, listening to music, and my 6 year old loves to play some games on it.

Piece of junk

I thought I was smart and I was going to save money by buying this android tablet rather than an ipad. But it turned out to be pretty much useless. It is very slow, unstable and feels cheap. When I plug my headphones all the way into the jack plug, there is no sound so I have to find the sweet spot for a minute before I can listen anything. The screen will freeze for no reason. The tablet will reboot for no reason either. And lately it is only picking up wifi signal if I am within the same room as my router, while the reception has not changed for all my other wireless devices. This is my third Archos product in the last 10 years, and my last one unless they can come up with real quality check before releasing products on the market. Every single Archos product I owned had very annoying flaws. I think Android is awesome, but that's the kind of hardware that gives it poor reputation.

Excellent!

I love my tablet. It performs exactly as it should, it has overall replaced my desktop. There are some things I still haven't figured out, but that's because I haven't had this item for very long.
