Good Product
This item was just what I needed. Had it installed and going in about 10 minutes. Works great. Installed a hard drive out of a 11 year old computer that the mother board had crashed. Have been able to retrive a lot of information that I thought was gone for good.

Best HDD enclosure I've had
I had an old enclosure that was beginning to give slow access to a hard drive that I knew was good and fast. This new enclosure works perfect - like having a new remote HDD.

Difficult to use
The tray is very tight: difficult to get the hard drive into the holding tray. The power and 40-pin cables are too short, making it difficult to see and maneuver to get them on easily. I won't buy another one.

Worked well for accessing older drives
I had a stack of IDE hard drives from older machines that I needed to examine and wipe prior to destroying them. This allowed me to see if there was anything that I needed from them prior to clearing them.

Nice product for a good price
The hard drive from my old computer went in easily and I plugged in the USB cord. My new computer installed it right away. 5 minutes start to finish!

Worked as expected
I too lost pictures and documents. It was easy to assemble and plugged in through a USB port. My new computer recognised it and installed with no problem

Life Saver!
Old motherboard finally gave it up, no backup for 10 years of pictures on HD.(Missus NOT pleased) Purchased this case and install went so smooth I couldn't believe it! Got everything I needed from drive, now it is the back up for our new PC. Great value for the price.

these work great
I bought one of these to retrieve files from a friend's old computer with a failed power supply unit. Simply connect your IDE drive with the jumpers in the master position, plug it in, turn it on and access your files. This was so easy even I could do it.

Great Product!
Like so many others, I had a number of 'old' IDE hard drives collecting dust, I now have them 'earning their keep by backing old videos and music collections I had accrued. The only criticism I found was two metal tabs on the tray that holds the hard drive was in the way of the ribbon connector and one on the other side was in the way of the power connection. It was easy enough to correct I just bent them back and everything is fine. The quality is very good and plan purchasing a few more. Would recommend if you have any IDE hard drives sitting around.
