vista is not a good mix for the card
have slim line case-supposed to come with 2 brackets-only had standard size. Instructions and cd offer no support what so ever for vista and the correct drivers. Vista searched and came back with the raid driver-can't use it-cloning hard drive non raid. If you are an expert or don't mind spending hours trying to find correct bios and controller card driver go for it-otherwise don't buy it

No complaints Here
Installation was easy, and it works the way it should. A word of advice: read the specific installation instructions for your operating system; don't do as I did and think you know the procedures, because if you don't follow their instructions initially, you will waste time and find that you don't know as much as you thought, lol. Did what I needed
Saw the warnings on other reviews and got the latest drives and firmware online for the install. No problems at all. Got the job done at a fair price. Runs my new SSD and 500 gig main drive perfectly. Card is nice and short as well so it didn't block the IDE ports on my motherboard.

Works with old Dell Precision 330 & Windows 2000
I did not use this card in a raid. This card does well with this machine, but you MUST update the Dell's Bios to the most recent A09. You should also have all the Microsoft patches for Windows 2000 installed too. I downloaded and installed the most recent driver from chip manufacturer. Main reason I bought this card was because it is faster than the usb universal drive adapters. For $20.00 not bad at all.

This Card Could Have Been Good.
Just purchased this card Saturday August 2010, at the retail store. I just wanted more internal SATA ports and not for RAID purposes. The card doesn't look half bad. Mine was black and gold with a SiliconImage (SIL3512) chip. After setting the card up it simply would not work. I changed jumpers on the HDD's and later upgraded the cards BIO as well as the latest driver to the latest one. The computer recognizes the card every time time. The HDD's the card does not recognize. Shame. It was the last one on the shelf and I could tell it was a returned item. However it's the one I want to bad that it turn out to be DOA. Pity

Not good
I installed Windows Server three times and each time it finished the install, on reboot the cards utility came back with a ''Invalid RAID Array'' error. I'll go back to the Promise cards I've been using for years without issues.
