Excellent Product!

Bought one of these for my brother & now have one for myself. In both cases, immediately after I hooked it up to the computers in question, I was immediately able to see names of wireless routers I had never seen before! The only thing that would make this product better is if it had a longer cable between the antenna & the computer in question.

Good product

It does what it says. Definitely an improvement over the stock antenna. I have one of these on the router and another on the adapter on my computer and I can stream 1080 no problem. They are about 100 ft away from each other with plenty of walls in between.

Works great!

This antenna really helped with getting excellent signal strength throughout the house. Very pleased with it. The long cord let me get it mounted high, which was much better than the little antenna that was on the back of my wireless router.

Works for me

I get a better signal for streaming netflix vs the standard stubby antenna that my router came with. For the people who give this a bad review, I'm thinking that they don't really know what they are buying. A high-gain antenna does not actually increase your overall signal strength, and instead, concentrates it (in this case) on the vertical plane. So this may not be what you are looking for if you have general signal strength issues.

NOT worth it

Short version, bought this and a wireless D-Link router, hoping to improve signal quality in a large house, but found the router did not have a replaceable antenna, DESPITE D-LINKS ADVERTISING TO THE CONTRARY! Spend your money elsewhere.

Poor Performance

I have a smartphone which gets a marginal signal from my wireless home network. I also have a DVR that uses a wireless adapter for file transfers. After installing this antennae, signal strength dropped by about half. Tried several positions and no difference. I have a WiFi meter on my phone and one in my Tivo to measure results. I switched back to the originol antannae and POOF! everything was back where it was (marginal). Guess I will have to live with it the way it is!

Does what it claims

This antenna greatly strengthens your wireless range in the horizontal plane, while limiting the vertical by quite a bit. (That extra range has to come from somewhere, after all!) So it will work really well if all of your systems are at about the same level, but don't expect it to extend your range by three floors directly above the antenna!

This antenna did very little for my wireless area.

Works well with some support

Attached to the router upstairs. When I combined with a range expander downstairs, it worked very well and we got a better signal than without the new antenna (the new antenna by itself did not make a difference and was slightly worse). There are times when the signal strength is low but we merely unplug the expander and plug it back in and signal strength is excellent. Aaah, the mysteries of connecting!

Great Antenna

Works like a charm. I added it to the D-link N router and between the higher bandwidth (compared to G) and longer range, I now have excellent access over the entire 3,400 sq. ft. home. I can easily stream Netflix content at a high definition level.
