Great for imaging
Only use it for imaging my laptop. Acronis has always been excellent for that. Does a great job of restoring a complete image to a PC, avoiding long reloading process. Don't use the other features.

Buggy & very slow at times
Works erratically and manipulates the computer so that normal functions can't be used when it is operating. Gets locked up at times and have to do a restart to stop it. Am disappointed in spite of the good reviews of others.

Serial Number on the CD Cover didn't work
Tried to install and use the Serial Number on the CD Cover and it wouldn't accept the Serial number. So I installed the free trial version then used the Serial Number from the cover to upgrade to the paid version and it was accepted. Not a very confidence building first impression. However the software did allow me to clone a 500Gb partition with Win 7 OS to a 120Gb SSD so it did work as advertised.

Duplicate HDD - Priceless!
I rebuilt my machine after a serious system cash. I cloned my HDD to a new internal drive, worked perfect! Removed the drive and stashed it, have to back up all my external and internal drives next. Purchased a copy for all my other machines. This software is excellent and will copy data quick.

Used to love it, not since version 2010
Activation is a joke. I have owned Acronis TI every version since V8. Bought 2012 from an online offer. Would not install at first until I had to uninstall any previous version and clean up any remaining trace (talk about a smart? software). After installation, I tried to check the pre-boot recovery media (pressing F11) I got a screen with Linux from which I could not exit. Powering off, my system was crashed (talk about a recovery software!) I recovered my system using an image made with Paragon which I have but not used before. When I installed Acronis 2012 again, It could not activate. It told me to uninstall it first from the other computer. How can I install something which does not exist anymore, having crushed the system upon which it was installed in the first place?

IT WORKS GREAT
Used the imaging software to copy my old software & operating system to a new SSD. I could'nt be happier, saved me hours of work by not having to re-install all my programs. I highly recommend this software. Have not used the backup yet but if it works as well I'll be thrilled.

Software does what it's supposed to; great for SSD
I just got a solid-state drive, so needed to clone my (much larger) mechanical drive. Norton Ghost seems unable to do it, but True Image handled it easily, making it easy to clone a 1.4 TB disk down to my 360 GB SSD. I've used their real-time backup before, and it's very good, but I have to switch from Windows backup, and I haven't done that yet.
