The DWL-3200AP Access Point is an ideal solution for creating a wireless network
or extending the range of an existing wireless network in a small to medium
business location. For advanced installations, this new high-speed Access Point
has an integrated 802.3af Power over Ethernet (PoE) port that allows you to
install the device in areas where power outlets are not readily available.
The DWL-3200AP provides maximum wireless security by supporting both WPA-Enterprise
and 802.1x for optimal data protection. In addition, the DWL-3200AP can support
802.11i and offers security features like MAC Address Filtering, Wireless LAN
segmentation, Disable SSID Broadcast, and support for Advanced Encryption Standard
(AES) Encryption.
To maximize your return on investment, the DWL-3200AP can be configured in
any one of three modes: Access Point, Point-to-Point (PtP) bridge with another
DWL-3200AP, or Point-to-Multipoint (PtMP) bridge.
Network administrators can manage all the DWL-3200AP's settings via its web-based
configuration utility or with Telnet. For advanced network management, administrators
can use D-Link's AP Manager or D-View SNMP management module to configure multiple
access points from a single location.
With integrated PoE support, extensive manageability, versatile operation modes,
and solid security enhancements, the new D-Link AirPremier DWL-3200AP Wireless
Access Point provides SMB environments with a business-class solution for deploying
a wireless network in the workplace.

I installed 2 DWL-3200AP units in my 9500 square foot restaurant and they cover the property very well. One is set as an access point directly off the DSL router and the other is set as a WDS/AP to extend the signal. Note that D-Link uses dot zero (192.169.0.1) rather than dot one (192.168.1.1)that Cisco/Linksys uses so you must change the host computer's IP to dot zero before you can connect and change settings. May be obvious to others but it took me some time to figure that out.

I ignored DLink products for a couple of years due to some of their other devices not working up to par, but recently a friend of mine recommended the DWL-3200AP and I am so glad I listened to his recommendation.
Unless you are connecting buildings that are far away from each other, hold off on buying external antennas. These babies rock! I am so happy with the signal strength after I placed 2 of these, in windows as close to line of site as I could, in separate buildings over 400 feet away, and everything works great! Make sure you upgrade the firmware before connecting, it will still work, but just makes sense to have the latest firmware. The web-based interface is very intuitive. Also, make sure the SSID is the same on each device and that you add the MAC address from the devices to each device and everything will work flawlessly in WDS mode. If you still can't connect then you may need to buy antennas from Hawking and extension cables. These make excellent APs as well.

These are rock solid. I have installed 5 of these units, some using WDS, some WDS/AP and, one as AP only. Very good quality no issues. Install latest firmware before deploying!
