awesome
Very nice unit, has a lot of auto-config when first plugged in; nice, clear web config screens for customizing the config for advanced users. I was really surprised by the very low noise of the unit. My other cheaper NAS unit could be heard from afar. For basic use I haven't really had a need to do much else to it beyond the auto-config.

Flexible configuration and high performance
I was looking for a high performance and flexible configuration in a NAS server and my search led me to the Iomega StorCenter px4-300d. The network storage device gives me the facility to purchase my own drives but of course from the drive list approved by Iomega. The amazing fact about the px4-300d is that it supports both Solid State Disk (SSD) and SATA drives. The drive carriers support 2.5 inch and 3.5 inch hard disks. Just swing the front door and the drives are easily accessible. The NAS device looks solidly built and is extremely quiet while operating. The maximum noise level is put at just 30dBA. The LCD screen provides complete status information of the px4-300d.
