Unreliable, but fast
It worked fine for about 8 months. Then one day it is no longer recognised by any computer (Windows or Linux). I contact customer support, they say it may be the cable. Bought a new cable, same issue. So, I have to RMA it. I have to pay for shipping, I have to pay for data recovery (not cheap), otherwise I lose all of my data, and then they'll send me a new drive. What happened Hitachi? Oh right, they sold out to Western Digital and now quality is down the drain. When it was working, it was about 2.5 times as fast as USB 2.0 for large files and about 1.05 times as fast for large amounts of small files (I have an add on card for USB 3.0). Western Digital, setting the standard for mediocrity in computer parts.
