Works for newer computers.
Works very good for notebooks with USB2. My old notebook came with USB1. I put a PCI card in it to get USB2 which works fine for most things but this drive causes a power surge and it won't work. Native USB1 works sometimes. I would not recommend it for older notebooks with USB1.

Just what I needed!
My laptop broke over a year ago, had 2 drives loaded with old pics. This enclosure worked like a charm! Transferred all my photos off the drives, and now use them for extra storage for movies and videos for my pad and desktop.
