It Works.

You need a quick case for an IDE laptop drive? Just make sure it's the right dimensions, and it's IDE(PATA), and you'll be fine. I connected my drive, closed the cover and installed the 2 screws, connected the cable (had to read the manual to figure out which connectors) to my laptop, and it showed up as a new drive letter. Done.

Put old HD's to good use at a good price.

I had an old 80 gig laptop ide hard drive laying around doing nothing until I found this Sabrent hard drive enclosure, now I have a large storage space for my music and pictures that frees up space on my laptop for other projects that I have going on.

Great productdecent price

for $12 this is not a good product, it works for what I wanted it for to hook to my Roku to play videos I downloaded from Youtube. Will not work on my Tablet but that is not what I bought it for. One thing I don't like is the non standard cable it came with would have been better if it came with a standard mini USB Cable and 5 volt power por for an optional external power supply instead of the 2 USB plugs at one end 1 for power for high current hard drives and the other to connect to your device but it did come with 2 cables so that was a good decision by the manufacture one other thing is it comes with real tiny screws and when I tried to install the first one I dropped it and lost it and was mad at first until I discovered they included 4 screws (2 Extra) so that was also a good move. It is very small light, sturdy feeling and compact and does not feel cheap plus the hard drive does not bounce or move around inside the case.

Good product for the money

I had a couple small hd's kicking around and figured I could use them for picture storage when away from my main computer area. So far so good.

The data transfer slows when you copy large amounts of data.

PLEASE HELP, Enclosure won't fit with the HD

The enclosure looks great but I have not been able to connect the Hard drive to the enclosure??? My Hard drive is: 40GB (MHT2040AT - MHV2040AT) 9.5mm 4200rpm 2.5 IDE-PATA. I have purchased this enclosure that says IDE-PATA (the one I received only says IDE, not PATA and has a different box for some reason... AND they don't fit together, although I bought the one suggested by the web site. PLEASE HELP, ANYONE?? Thank you!!

Great option to utilize your old internal drive

Great product. I bought this after buying a adapter set to retrieve data from our internal drive from our failed laptop. I wish I would have bought this first because it performs beautifully at half the cost. Case is a little flimsy, but it works really well.

The Sabrent HD enclosure was easy to setup. Plug and play easily recognized the HD. The aluminum housing looks and feels like high quality. I am happy.
