Skeptical at First
I've had a long working history with Gateway as part of a software company back in the 90's. I was really hesitant and skeptical to buy Gateway nearly 2 decades later but I'm actually very satisfied with my purchase. As with cars, computers can also be lemons so sometimes it really is the luck of the draw. I've had this laptop for almost a year now and had no problems whatsoever. Just recommend making a backup using their utility to make a recovery DVD.

Great laptop and amazing price
This is an awesome laptop and it has an excellent processor and LED backlight display which extends the battery life to 3-4 hours. The numeric keypad is very convenient. My suggestion is to get updated drivers for all the components and then the system works absolutely fine. I had a minor issue with sleep mode in vista which was solved by following this (Vista KB 929734) procedure. Cons:power socket is on the side, dvd drive keeps being polled (hdd light blinks),no multichannel audio, mouse keys (strip) are a little small
